Welcome to LA

I figured I'd give this blogging thing a try to chronicle my time out here in LA. If you don't like it, don't read it.

The Drive
Woke up early and took off. Due west on I-10. Sounds easy enough, but I managed to fall off in San Antonio and ended up driving through Castroville on US 90 before I realized I was lost. Turned around and headed on my way. That's really as exciting as it gets. There's nothing between San Antonio and El Paso (or Los Angeles for that matter). Really. Nothing. So there's not much more I can type here.

The Beach
Kevin let me tag along for most of the weekend including a beach tackle football game between Deloitte interns and staff (yours truly was the MVP). Gave it the ol' college try at beer pong only to come up short and then went out in Manhattan Beach. As you can see, absolutely no fun was had last weekend. None.

The Move-In
Jerry and I found a place within a few hours of me getting here. I must say, it's impressive - in the hills just above the Sunset Strip. Rumor has it that this is the place to be in LA. This weekend, we're hosting a fund raiser/party (emphasis on party) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Stay tuned and I'll let you know how it went.

Celebrity countdown - I've been here 6 days and have yet to see a celebrity (although, Jerry was just on Scrubs).

I don't know anything about LA...how close is your new place to the beach?

I'm about 10 miles to the closest beach (Santa Monica), but Manhattan Beach is further - about 15 miles.
